Problem Solving for the Obedience Ring: This class will focus on solving problems that teams are facing in the obedience ring or things that are holding them back from competing. All levels welcome.  You can do a run through or get help on a specific exercise.

Crate Games:  Crate Games is based upon concepts and strategies developed by Susan Garrett in her DVD “Crate Games for Self Control and Motivation”.  Susan notes some of the benefits of Crate Games include: helping your dog to love his crate in any location, developing a great relationship with your dog, proofing against distractions, and safety.  She also notes that solid crate behaviors learned in Crate Games can be helpful in many competitive performance dog sports.  The Games can help with distance control and motivational drive for obstacles in agility and can be used to develop speed for go-outs and recalls in obedience.  In this class we will provide strategies for you to use to teach your dog to love his crate as we work up to games to increase drive and self-control.  You must bring a wire or plastic crate (no mesh crates) with no bedding to each class.

Bridge to Open and Utility: This class offers students an opportunity to continue learning basic skills needed for competitive obedience and gain basic understanding of Open and Utility ring requirements.  This class WILL include studying components of each exercise, understanding complete behavior chain and use of back-chaining.  This class will NOT include assembling of the complete exercises or proofing.  Use of clicker will be highly recommended but not required.  Learning theory, shaping and capturing will be utilized. Pre-requisites: 303 and Novice

Tricks: This class is geared to have fun with your dog. In this class you will be taught a variety of tricks so you can show off to your friends and family. It's also a great way to bond with your dog. No experience necessary, but dogs must be comfortable working around other people and dogs.

Competitive Heeling: Class is designed for teams aspiring to compete in AKC Obedience. Shaping and capturing without luring will be utilized. Use of clicker is highly recommended. To make the most of the class please come prepared with these skills: from a distance of a couple of feet send your dog around a cone and to a target, such as a target stick or a foot target.
